Bagnall, Henry (b. 1821, d. ?)

Note: Register incorrectly has his father as Robert Bagnall. Henry's first marriage +
gives his father as J. Bagnall, second as John Bagnall.

Note: In the Bednall Baptism register, Henry is given as a son of Robert and Mary +
Bagnall, baptised on 7 Oct 1821. When recording this information many years +
ago, I realised that the baptism date seemed to conflict with the baptism at +
Penkridge of Aaron Bagnall, son of Robert and Mary Bagnall, on 14 Apr 1822. I +
noted on my records that Henry and Aaron may have been the children of separate +
parents, but assumed at that time that the names of both parents were given +
correctly. In 1995, I was contacted by Tony Tomkins, a descendant of Henry +
Bagnall. Tony had proved that Henry was the child of John and Mary Bagnall, +
not of Robert and Mary. The evidence is in the registers recording Henry's +
marriages. At Wolverhampton St Peter in 1842, his father is shown as "J. +
Bagnall". At Penkridge in 1878, his father is shown as "John Bagnall". +
Further evidence is the 1861 census, Penkridge. Henry's widowed mother, Mary, +
is shown as living with him at that time. Mary, the wife of Robert Bagnall, +
was buried in 1823.
